Earn More

Earn More From Every Eligible Marriott Stay

Whether you are traveling for a week, a month or a six-month government assignment, Marriott Bonvoy can be one of the most valuable hotel loyalty programs available.

Eligible stays can earn Marriott Bonvoy points, Elite Night Credits and progress toward elite status while you remain within government per diem rates.

For long-term travelers, those benefits may continue well beyond the assignment through complimentary personal stays, room upgrades, breakfast and late checkout.

Long-Stay Advantage

Why Government Travelers Should Join Marriott Bonvoy

✓ Marriott Bonvoy Points
✓ Elite Night Credits
✓ Elite Status
✓ Free Hotel Nights
✓ Lounge Access
✓ Annual Choice Benefits

Many Per Diem Lodging guests earn enough Elite Night Credits during a single long assignment to reach Gold or Platinum Elite status.

Those benefits can make both government and personal travel more comfortable long after the original assignment ends.

The Marriott Sweet Spot

For most government and military travelers, Platinum Elite is where Marriott Bonvoy becomes truly rewarding.

At participating Marriott hotels, Platinum Elite members may enjoy:

✓ Complimentary breakfast at many brands

Planning a long government assignment? Ask us about Marriott’s unpublished Elite Status Challenge. Eligible travelers may be able to earn Platinum Elite status much sooner than through the standard qualification requirements, allowing you to enjoy these benefits earlier in your assignment.

Challenge terms, eligibility requirements, and qualifying stay requirements are determined by Marriott and may change without notice.

Points Earning

How Marriott Bonvoy Points Are Earned

Marriott does not offer formal family pooling like some loyalty programs, but eligible members may transfer points to another member for free, subject to account-age requirements, annual limits and current program rules.

Yes. Buying points usually makes the most sense during a strong promotional offer or when you need a limited number of additional points to complete a high-value reward-night reservation.

Do Marriott Bonvoy points expire?

Marriott Bonvoy points generally expire after 24 months without qualifying account activity. Eligible earning or redemption activity can help keep the account active, subject to Marriott’s current terms.

What is the fifth-night-free benefit?

Eligible Marriott Bonvoy members may receive the lowest-priced night free when redeeming points for five consecutive nights, subject to current program rules and participating properties.

When should I consider a Marriott elite status challenge?

A status challenge may be especially valuable before a long government assignment because it can reduce the number of paid nights required to earn Gold or Platinum Elite status.

Enrollment and qualification rules may change, so the challenge should be confirmed before the stay begins.
