Once earned, Hilton Honors elite status is generally valid for the rest of the calendar year in which it was earned and an additional 15 months. For example, status earned during 2026 would generally continue through March 31, 2028, subject to Hilton’s current program rules.
🏅 The Hilton Sweet Spot
For many government and military travelers, Gold Elite is where Hilton Honors becomes truly rewarding.
There are two great ways to earn Hilton Honors Gold Elite status:
- Stay just 25 qualifying nights in a calendar year—an attainable goal during many extended government assignments.
- Request a Hilton Honors Status Match if you already hold elite status with another qualifying hotel loyalty program.
Gold Elite members may enjoy:
- 80% Bonus Hilton Honors Points on eligible stays
- Daily Food & Beverage Credit at participating U.S. hotels when selected as your MyWay Benefit, or complimentary breakfast at many international hotels
- Space-available room upgrades
- Fifth Night Free on eligible reward stays when redeeming points

Choose Your Benefits
Hilton MyWay Benefits
MyWay is a customizable benefit that allows eligible Gold, Diamond and Diamond Reserve members to select preferred on-property benefits. Depending on the hotel brand and location, choices may include bonus points, a daily Food & Beverage Credit, or complimentary snacks and drinks.
- Set your preferences for each individual Hilton brand in your Hilton Honors account before arrival.
- In the U.S., the Food & Beverage Credit commonly ranges from $10 to $25 per person, per night, for up to two registered guests.
- Outside the U.S., eligible members can often choose complimentary breakfast instead.
- Gold members commonly choose between points and the meal benefit, while Diamond members may receive both at certain brands.
Review and manage your selections through the MyWay section of your Hilton Honors account.

Important Breakfast Detail
Many Hilton Brands Offer a Meal Credit Instead of Complimentary Breakfast
At many full-service Hilton brands in the United States, eligible Gold and Diamond members receive a Daily Food & Beverage Credit rather than automatic complimentary breakfast. The credit is generally available for the member and one registered guest and may be used for eligible food or drinks charged to the room.
Example: If you and your spouse stay at the Carte Hotel in San Diego and each receive a $15 daily credit, the reservation receives a combined $30 per day in eligible food and beverage credits.
Diamond Highlight
Executive Lounges
Executive lounge access can be one of the best benefits of Hilton Diamond status. At participating full-service Hilton, DoubleTree, Conrad, Curio and Signia properties, eligible Diamond members may receive complimentary access.
Not every Hilton brand or property has an executive lounge, and exact offerings vary by hotel and local regulations.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions

Will I earn Hilton Honors points when booking through Per Diem Lodging?
Per Diem Lodging books directly with participating hotels, so eligible qualifying stays can earn Hilton Honors points and Elite Night Credits. Always provide your Hilton Honors membership number before check-in. Final eligibility depends on Hilton’s program rules, the participating hotel and the qualifying rate booked.
How much are Hilton Honors points worth?
Many travel experts estimate Hilton Honors points at approximately 0.5 cents per point. Actual value varies because Hilton uses dynamic award pricing and the value depends on the property, travel dates and redemption.
Can I pool or transfer Hilton Honors points?
Hilton permits eligible members to pool or transfer points, subject to annual transaction, sending and receiving limits. Review Hilton’s current terms before initiating a transfer.
Can I buy Hilton Honors points?
Yes, although buying points usually makes the most sense when a promotion is available or when you need a limited number of points to complete a high-value redemption.
Do Hilton Honors points expire?
